Part number for what you need should be 1K2 857 114 C 71N

As i say, its basically the bottom half of the passenger side dash - the part cost me £27

Hi - I don't suppose you could post up a photo of the part please?  I'm having problems visualising what part it is as the area under the metallic strips just looks like the glovebox section/component (one piece).

Very many thanks  :happy2:

Richard.

Thank you (given) !  :happy2:

I didn't realise you could get so much for only £27 from VW!   Basically it's the whole glove-box surround.

I know, I have been surprised by bits in the past, I got a whole top cover for the steering wheel top for about £6 iirc, even with the fake leather bit    :surprised:

I suspect that the screws / bolts and washers are behind the dash and go in to the unit itself.
When removed it will leave 3 holes i think, 2 for the fixings, 1 for the wiring

As others have said, its a very easy job... You just need a T20 screwdriver. There is a how to available here:

If you can get the part from VW for £25, I'd bite their hands off!!

:signLOL: When i had my MK 4 GTI i bought loads of stuff for it from the dealers that just sat there for years gathering dust, Like Bora vents, and small wing mirrors, leather armrest, R32 steering wheel etc etc etc.
I'm determined not to let that happen this time round.

By the way i noticed from your sig you have had Revo DSG remap done, How did it change the car, and do you recommend it?
