Weather for the Pod
« on: January 28, 2009, 06:50:51 pm »
I get access to a Met Office Forecaster every day, and i have asked him what the weather is likely to be on Sun in the midlands.

He reckons, quite breezy and bright start, so it will be cold, with a NE wind.  So expect a bit of wind chill.  it will be cold out of the wind, and this will be increased to somewhere below freeezing in the wind, so the Intake temps will be ok!

The big one - rain - He does not think so.  Reckons it will start fairly clear skied, and gradually build as the day extends.  To medium level cloud, so not rain threatening.  He does not expect any rain until Mon/Tuesday.

So take a umbrella, and a rain coat!  Usually they are pretty good.  I will get a detailed forecast on Friday morning, during our daily flying brief.

Great work Weatherman Dave  :happy2:, as long as the food is good, beer is cold, access to wash car nearby, and good greasy breakfast in the morning, and a big turnout, then will be a memerable weekend. :happy2:

Right further sitrep.

There is a high (1028) sat over the baltic region, which is dominating the weather.  It is tracking east-ish and is pushing out the lows sat over Ireland away and north ish.

This will slowly push the cloud and misty bits away as the cold dry air associated with 1028 advances.

Hence the nice cool start to the weekend and NE winds.

So he said.......................

....

Sorry to report that the BBC lunchtime news just reported that Sunday would probably be dry and cold but with strong liklihood of snow as the day progresses.
