k03 price
« on: July 29, 2010, 07:24:36 pm »
Hi guys,

Just after a little advice. I have a BWA engine with the standard k03 turbo fitted and was wondering what sort of price would you expect to pay with 10k on it?

Any feedback will much appreciated

You talking just the Turbo or the Engine & Turbo?

If it's the engine ive seen them go on eBay for anywhere between £1000 - 1500 both with and without Turbo

Not usually such low mileage though so your prob looking around the £1500

If it's the turbo only your prob looking around the £500-700 mark with only 10k miles on it

Easy fella! The project is very much still alive. I was going to sell my k03 to fund a k04  :happy2:

I'm having the engine mounts mocked up next weekend, i'll take a few piccy's and put them on the build thread.

I did get some Audi S4 brakes to fit but not 100% sure now? Know anyone who might be interested? The sale would consist of calipers, carriers, discs and pads (with only 1500miles on them, so loads more motoring left!). Currently in talks with AP Racing about a suitable brake set up. Any you would recommend?

Pete.

Thanks for your response Carl  :happy2:

I didn't think they would be worth that much!? It's just the turbo I will be selling. The mileage is ridiculously low, the main reason why I snapped it up. It came from a 58 plate GTI with heavy rear end damage.

They normally go for anywhere between £250-800 (thats the most expensive i have seen one go for)

Yours only having 10k miles on it is practically just run in and thats it (unless its was 10k of thrashing :rolleye:) so you could probably get at least £500 for it.

Put it on eBay with a reserve on of say £50 more than you paid for it and see how you get on :happy2:

IIRC, I paid £400 for my replacement K03 which had about 4k miles on it from a known driver. Nearly 2 years ago and all is well.

I just noticed when looking through my pics, that there are various revisions of the K03 - Rev C is 2005, Rev G is 2008:

On a different topic - Does anyone happen to know the difference between a Mk4 K04 and a Mk5 K04?

Cheers.

....Dunno. Nothing I could see from the outside. We'd have to ask the right bod at Volkswagen. There must be something different though.
