My attempt at a good deed...
« on: July 30, 2010, 10:50:52 pm »
Dropped the car off today at my usual VAG/Porsche specialist in Northampton and on the way saw an 08 plate MK5 GTI 5 door in Steel Grey parked up in one of the industrial/retail outlet car parks. I'd seen it several times before and always have a glance but this time, the drivers window was fully down and open which I thought was slightly strange. No-one was within 500 yards of it.

As I was walking past having dropped the car off on the return journey, I walked in to 2 of the shops closest to see if it was any of the employees' cars. Northampton is a bit like a suburb of London in terms of societies and crime levels, so not ideal. I'd usually not have been inclined to mention it with just any car, but with it being a Golf, a MK5 and a GTI - AND in the same colour as mine, I felt 200% committed   Both people I mentioned it to in the shops unfortunately didn't recognise it. Felt slightly bad for the owner as I know that the window fault on the MK5 window regulators is common although I'd have thought by the MY57/08's it'd have been sorted? The windows have played the very same tricks to me before and I've left one or two of them open on a couple of occasions having held the lock key fob button, when in fact they bounce back down when they hit the top of the window :ashamed:

On the way back to pick mine up, it was raining and pretty miserable conditions.... and.... driving back past the parked up Golf, the window was still down!  :scared: Fail.

Is it anyone on here's I wonder?...
I tried
Pete

Good for you for trying, Pete :drinking:

I'm never too embarrassed to approach anyone - I don't care who they are - It's just a matter of being polite and having a reason [such as I'd love to fuk your brains out!].

What goes around comes around, so I expect someone will do a favour for you sooner or later.
