reducing understeer !

Is there anything else that can be done to reduce it ? i know the an LSD will help, i didnt want to spend that much though Ta

if you have understeer with your mods, you need the rear arb set harder or get a stiffer rear arb. also stickier tyres would help

if your car is still understeering alot even with all your mods, id have to say its your driving.  all front wheel drive cars will suffer with power understeer if your to aggressive on the loud pedal during cornering.

i had eibach ARBs on mine.  i found that with the rearbar on its stiffest setting and the front on its softest that understeer was at its lowest.  never really had an understeer problem

if i was to do it again i would fit an even stiffer rear bar because i like a loose back end, with a more oversteer bias.  

you could look into a BSH 27mm rear ARB and flog your eibach rear bar.  however you start to lose independance of the suspension by having such thick bars on the car.

a better alternative by a long way would be the TT lower control arms, the extra 0.5^o neg camber will massively increase cornering grip.  thats only about £400 fitted

I set the rear to fully hard a couple of weeks ago and it made a big differance.
Tyres will deffo be soon, down to my last 3-4 mm on the front.
Seen a nice set of of toyos in the fs section. Mmmmmmmm !

If the weather is good on Tuesday I think I'm going to knockhill, the only thing is I've just broke two fingers so I'll need to see how they feel first, so I was looking for something quick ish to try.

I'm going to chuck on my pagid blues to see how they are

 

Can you dial in more camber on the gti cheaply eg with out buying adjuster plates for the coilovers or s3 arms

Got to say I expected the rear bar on hard to be very oversteery but it's still very neutral

Nope.

Whiteline do an adjustable topmount, but I'd prefer camber via a longer wishbone. Get your geo track biased too, that helps lots.

you have 3 options of changing the camber.

tt lower arms,
morego power grip lower arms
top mounts (KW or whiteline)

KW only fits clubsport diameter springs, and they are a lot smaller than stock.
