Mate, that's a huuuuuge undertaking. Glad you managed to get it sorted. Don't think I'll do any of that. I'd so something silly like drop and break the IC.

Good work mate. Kinda scary to peer into the belly of the GTI like that.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Nicely done. Your first big install is always a worry, but I reason that if I break it I can (probably) fix it :)

OK here goes my reputation...   :P

I took the Ed30 into the main dealer this week for a oil, oil filter and spark plug change... plus I needed that busted coolant hose replacing.  Anyway, the dealer sorted it out - even offered the hose repair on a warranty basis despite the fact I told him about my S3 intercooler install!  He told me that the reason why the hose had got caught by the radiator fan was because the bottom of the radiator/intercooler/condensor assembly was not properly attached to the slam panel - I was sure that I had checked everything and it looked ok at the time, but it was 2-3 inches out.  I think the extreme acceleration at the Pod had moved the assembly sufficiently to clip the hose and split it.  Lesson learned and it still doesn't put me off doing work on my own car in the future

Mate, dealer is sound. Where's your dealer based?
