Why is the Forum so Slow

Guest and members, it was disabled for guests as of last night  :happy2:

I am running some more checks on the indexes now so expect things to slow down for the next hour or so.

The speed is fine for me but I seem to have lost the search function.

Good idea to disable the Search function for guests anyway. The ability to Search is invaluable and it's only fair that registered members' use of it shouldn't be compromised.

I only experience the forum slowness (loading) randomly and never as long as 11 minutes as reported.

....Me too but I expect it's only while Steve does some tinkering under the bonnet.

It disabled for everyone while I update the indexes. It's 45% through and it's been running 2 1/2 hours, as soon as it's done I will re-enable the search function.
