Ok, just been down and had a good luck both inside and out the car, still pretty grubby in general, 2 of the alloys are kerbed on the outer edge and the 3rd has a stone chip on the rim, tailgate still has the 2 scratches that have been filled in with a touch up pen, rub strip edge marks are IMO minor as mine are in worse nick lol, interior is a bit grubby and has marks to the trim on the drivers seat base and behind where the drivers seatbelt clip hangs,
IMO with a good clean and 10 mins with a magic sponge will have the interior perfectly fine...
Alloys need attention as does the tailgate but they reckon that will be sorted before sale...
As I type someone else obviously agrees as they are buying it apparently!
Sound pal, its looking slightly better then. There was some bad marks on the centre arm rest console, just below the actual arm rest itself if that makes sense. Not sure how they got there. it was on the drivers side. Wonder if they are still there.
Must admit i am fussy but suppose its cos its alot of money.
Yeah theres nothing wrong with being fussy and wanting everything 100% when your spending that much cash!
The scuffs on the drivers door bottom and the seat base seem to be on most golfs including mine as its where your shoes hit as you get in and out and i rubbed a couple off with a wet finger lol, magic sponge eraser thingy works wonders on interior scuffs and should get rid of the armrest ones no probs i think, the mark on the drivers seat bolster should come better with some leather conditioner but the ones behind the seatbelt clip on the b pillar would probably have to remain..looks like a lady driver with some heavy duty diamond rings has been fumbling for the seatbelt imo...
Main problem with interior is that it is just plain grubby and has not been presented for sale at all imo, needs a good hoover and apc'ing to get it up to standard but underneath the fluff i feel it will be fine...
Alloys would require a refurb for me to be totally happy but would need all 4 for colour matching, tailgate scratch needs a proper repair (SMART etc) and i would be happy with the door strip edges as they are better than the ones on mine haha!
My thoughts? Dealer sorts the alloys and tailgate, chip them on price to pay for a JPC detail and a tenner for some silver paint for the rusty hubs and you'd have a very very nice car!
Apparently the car is now sold awaiting the above issues being sorted / valet and the potential new buyer was doing the paperwork as i asked for the keys lol!
