Another new car thread

Well after almost three years of ownership and 41k miles my ed30 went yesterday, great car and almost loved every minute of owning it  :happy2:

Then drove off on in this



Racked up 400 miles already and  :laugh: fooking brilliant, 2nd hand cayman s in arctic silver with pretty much every option pasm, sports crono, seats, xenons, nav and sim phone previous owner was rick stein.. So hopefully been looked after

Not as fast as my gti in the straights or mid range overtaking but still very punchy, but the noise and the handling more than make up for it. Overall rather pleased  :happy2:

Apologies for copying stoke but after driving one my mind was set  :drinking:

Haha that's amazing. I love Caymans, big upgrade mate.

Superb, James!

The only way is up!

If it was a 2-seater for me it would be between a Cayman S and an Audi TT-RS, and probably the Porsche would clinch it.

As my mum used to say to me whenever anything bad happened: "Chin up! As one door closes, another one opens".

Based in London unfortunately but my Sis is in York so may well take you up on that some day  :drinking:

Totally different to the golf and this is my first rwd car let alone mid engined so taking it easyish for the time being, it's manual too so I'm having to get use to that again after a few years of dsg, but the gear box is awesome, 5-6k rpm drop the clutch and it's off , amazes me you can do 70ish in 2nd then into three figures in third   :evilgrin:

Loving every minute of it so far, seats are mint and the noise as you approach 5krpm and above is insatiable, but it's just the way it hugs the road which has impressed me the most...it goes beyond my current capabilities

I had been looking into a few mods, like zorst, plenum and map as I thought it might not be powerful enough but will be holding fire, going to follow robins advice and remap my driving brain before I start tinkering with this one

....CarLimits at North Weald airfield might be of interest. If so, I recommend a 4-person day as the max. Andy Walsh is easy to get on with and teaches you without making you feel useless.

Another course for learning good roadcraft in a performance car is Drivetrain with Big John:   http://www.drivetrain.uk.com/

I got the most out of Drivetrain and apply most of it every time I drive.
