My 2007 5dr GTi - Detailing & Wheel Refurb
« on: August 07, 2010, 07:50:06 pm »
Hi All

Just thought I'd post some pictures after having some detailing work and a wheel refurb done (plus 4 new Vreds)...

Car is shadow blue metallic '07 plate with DSG, standard 17inch Monza's refurbed in graphite grey (Ireally like the Monza's).

Done by a chap called Justin Lawrence of Gleaming Kleen in Wilts, really nice chap and as you can see does an excellent job, I would thoroughly recommend him! Feels like I have a new car  (didn't realise swirl marks on a car made so much difference to the shine on the paintwork).

Not cheap but...

Russ

Look fantastic mate, really makes the colour pop out.
I hope you are getting rid of some of that 'arch air' soon though and really get the car hugging the ground!  :happy2:

The wheels look really nice! I'm thinking of getting mine done the same but aren't sure how they'll look on a black car....

mine are refurbed in gloss black and i think it goes well with the black paint so the dark grey should look good

That looks great mate!

I wouldnt expect anything less than that from Another Swissvax Detailer.

With regards to rates, Most price on a Daily basis.

That varies quite a lot but you truly get what you pay for.

Some might price it at £250 which you'll probably receive some pretty shocking work,

others will charge more like £1250 + Vat. but the work will be awesome.

Its worth noting, it simply is not possible to do a full correction on a golf in under 2 days.

2 days bare minimum for a correction on a golf, 2.5-3 ideally.

Thanks all...yeah I was REALLY pleased with the results...

Loads of swirl marks so it cost me £500 for the detailing and £200 for the wheels to be properly refurbed by Lepsons in Swindon. Have to say that Justin and Lepson did an amazing job.

Yes, will hopefully be reducing the amount of 'arch air' soon, although not sure which suspension to go for to have the desired effect without ruining the ride, any recommendations?

Am hoping to get a Superchips stage 1 conversion, DSG remap and filter change done soon to make it as fast as it looks!!

whats DW?

Detailing world.

A forum like this but based solely on detailing. Lots of useful info there for those who are interested.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
