I'm still curious as to what the problem with the car was. Complete and total loss of electrical power...
...loose battery cable?
Actually, joking aside, there was an issue in the US when the new Camaro came out. The battery for the Camaro was in the boot and GM had chosen a poor routing for the cable to the front of the car - the positive cable was very close to the starter motor and could rub. There were at least three occasions where the cable got worn through, creating a short, resulting in complete loss of electrical power and drive to the car. In one instance IIRC there was a fire as well. This was all within the first two weeks of the car's release! There was a recall and the cables were re-routed adequately. But this sort of thing does happen.
