This will be a long shot i know but here goes.
About 10 years ago I started to read a book which was part of a series.
It was written by a guy who was ex military police (can't remember if he was UK or USA)
The only things I can remember from it are that in the book there is a secret organisation where they can do stuff like read people's minds and give them information or even take it from them. They also get stuff from there ancestors etc.
Also one of the villain type characters was known as a wampire/wampyre/wampyr. Can't remember the exact spelling but remember it was spelt with a W.
That's all I can remember apart from that it was a good book but I never got to finish it and can not for the life of me remember the name of the book or the author.
If anyone can help I'd be very grateful as I have been searching google for the past 3 hours and can't seem to find it.
