APR RSC Zaust, Miltek Exhaust or Blueflam Exhaust.....
« on: August 13, 2010, 07:24:16 pm »
Hi guys,

You lot are probably bored of my questions but, wanna make the right choices so need the correct advice! Which of the following Exhaust systems would you recommend from experience reviews or prefernces?

It's a toss up between the APR RSC or the Miltek but, I'm now considering the Blueflame as I've been hearing good stuff about it too!!

Many thanks in advance.

Phil

what do you want the exhaust to do?

i wanted standard sound more power so i get milltek resonated and had it fitted today. does exactly what it says on the tin.

blueflame are pretty loud...in a good way just not what i was looking for and zero experience of the APR RSC, but i think? (never looked just assumed) it has a valve which allow it to be both? quiet at low speeds and loud when you press the loud pedal.

i have seen all the system off the car and all look well built and worth the cash.

It's a tough one really pal. I have had both Milltek and Blueflame, the first on an ED30 and the latter on an S3.

The Milltek was a non-res, it sounded well and delivered the desired performance increase as promised in conjunction with the remap. It did get a little droney on the motorway at times and wasn't quite as loud as I would have liked! When it was sold the new owner did have a problem with one of the weld's cracking, however the required part was replaced under warranty by Milltek with no issues. Milltek did have a problem with weld's cracking quite frequently lately due to poor manafacturing, this problem has now been eradicated so i'm told. Would I have one again, probably not as Blueflame are in town

Onto Blueflame, this was a custom TBE with a 100 CEL race cat and some beautifully engineered tips, the exhaust is sat in my garage at the moment and the craftsmanship of it is first class when looking up close. It sounded absolutely mental when pressing on, like no other 2.0 TFSI I have heard to date. It was very well behaved at cruising speeds on the motorway which is a big thing for me, as I do a LOT of motorway miles. A really great system, I would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

I don't know too much about the APR but I am sure other guys will be along to comment.

Hope this helps   :happy2:

Phil,

Im thinking about Miltek or Blueflame for the S3...

I had a Milly on my 3 door but only the front section and DP.  Kept the OEM rear section as it offers little gain if any.  A couple of us have tried this configuration and it works really well.

I'll be doing it again this time.

As for the OP's question - If you could afford/justify the expense of the RSC then it is a very nice bit of pipework.

If you want to have a look at a well made exhaust then take the standard one off  :happy2: it doesn't quite have  the performance gains or noise that the after market parts provide but looks so much better quality than the millteks I had on my ed30..

My flex flange blew, turbo connecting pipe split (same place as hurdys) and my tailpipes cracked, now i must stress all parts were replaced under warranty by miltek and they have since revised the design which I hear is greatly improved but for me when I am considering a exhaust for my new car miltek will not be on the list

Apr would be my choice again but the price difference compared to the blue flame, can get you some extra mods  :happy2:

Thanks everyone... I appreciate all your help! Tomorrow my Car is getting APR Stage 1, WALK, AP Coilovers and a Forge Twintake. Can't wait
End of the month if things go well and they are still about I'll be getting my wheels (Fingers crossed, Ash!)

I think I've narrowed it down to Blueflame and APR!!! And, a Milly as a last resort!!

Blueflame is sounding a bit nice! I been looking at prices and I've seen them for £800 for the full system! I don't think I'll be getting the APR as It's a bit expensive even though I would really like one!

Yea, I don't want you to wait around for me but, if they are still available then I'll take em!  :happy2:

Really looking forward to getting my Car done tomorrow!!!

I think with the APR you get the best of both the other 2 options. This would be my choice if money allowed.  :happy2:

I think il go with the same system as Tom has got on his S3  Blueflame...

The Blueflame on Tom's sound mental, for some reason it doesn't sound like a 4 pot, It has a big gurgle like a American V8.  :driver:
