Sky Sports News On Freeview

I'm now aware that this is going to be removed from Freeview in the near future, which I'm distraught about tbh 

I more or less bought Freeview for this channel alone (+Millie Clode, Georgie Thompson and Charlotte Jackson  ). It's now going HD so therefore won't be received by standard Freeview boxes 

The question is, is anyone able to please confirm whether this will be available on a HD Freeview box or receiver?

Well its still available to normal sky viewers in normal format and HD from the 23rd so id say unless you go sky i doubt it.

I got a letter the other day telling me that they are putting everyone's Sky subs up by £1 a month soon as well!
Need to get one of those boxes where you get all the channels free! lol

So Freeview HD is simply the standard freeview channels (at the time) in HD, nothing extra?

Its crap anyway.. I tried watching it yesterday for news of the blades sacking Blackwell.I sat there for nearly an hour with the ticker constant on "Sheffield United sack manager Kevin Blackwell" and all the 2 tw4ts on it could do is stutter there way thru the premiership.."TWICE" then go to some Cricket.."RAIN"..Keep promising Championship news..Then a Fecking advert for Ford...Then news on Tomorrows(Todays) Game..With team selections..(all the time the ticker going non stop on blackwell)..Then stumble thru more cricket which is called off because of rain but still newsworthy because of that..I,m screaming by now.. Woohooo lets go to another advert..."coming up..Sheffield United sack Blackwell"... buy a Ford..NOW!... we go back... interview Blackpools, striker...manager...tea lady.Cricket still rained off..Table postions for the premiership.... I turned it off.laptop on sorted.

lol. Im going to get rid of my Sky. I know someone who can give me a box that allows you to get all the channels over the internet? Just needs a wired connection to your network and a little setting up apparently. Not sure what its called though - its like when people used to chip cable boxes, but this isnt a cable box as such. He told me all he needs is a connection to your Sky dish, and a connection to the Internet.....

Damn right!
I'll get the name of it, but a friend of mine has two of them already (different rooms). I checked one out and the quality on his 50" was pretty impressive for an internet stream. Apparently you need at least a 2MB broadband connection? Not too bothered as I have 10MB anyways.
I think its around £100 or so to start with, which covers the setup etc as well, and he guarantee's it for a year. Its then an extra £100 per year to keep it going i think - which still beats Sky by a long way!
