well i picked my gti up yesterday, done 15 miles and my air con pump went bang, seized solid and spat the v belt off. which is a great start. it still has a years warranty left which is lucky so will be puttin a new pump condensor v belt and tensior and alternator pulley on it tuesday hopefully. hope its not the start of things to come as im bit gutted at the moment to say the least.

Welcome mate.

That's horrendous news! Did you find out whether it had highline or not? Silly of VW not to have included it for only £50. Anyway, hope the car get's sorted and when it does, post up some pics!

no sadly its not got a highline dash. tight sods. still gutted didnt even have it a day lol. at least i will be gettin paid to work on my own car next week and i will have a nice new ac pump. will get some pics of the pump and post them up. it pretty much blew it in half! so its dumped its oil everywhere to. never seen one do it before. then as the pulley went solid on the pump it destroyed the belt in no time at all, a matter of seconds. couldnt believe it. never mind, will strip it down tommorrow gona take the cambelt cover off to want to make sure nothing got behind it, then put all new pulleys on and a pump and go from there. just want it back sooooo bad. :driver:

no think it was just plain bad luck. they have modified the ac pumps now anyway. i got the car bk on the road tuesday after it cost vw bout 1500 quid in warranty bits and labour. had a new ac pump, belt, condensor, expansion valve and a pipe. i also flushed the system 4 times when it was apart so it should be smooth sailing now. just want the snow to leave me alone now. hopefully give it its first wash on sunday so i can get some pics. love driving it though was worht the wait.
