He didn't run.

....I love watching it but have no plans to ever run. I used to do amateur Time Trials (bicycle) and so I'm very familiar with the bug! It's not actually all about beating everyone else but more about constantly trying to improve your own PB (Personal Best) time. This thread with the wonderful enthusiasm of previously virgin dragstrippers is absolute proof of how the addiction gets hold of you!!

Sorry I had to leave without saying a proper farewell to many and to miss the group pic.

Should all be much easier in better weather.

Reaction :- 0.94
60ft :- 2.71
1/8 :- 10.53
1/4 :- 15.59

NOT BAD AT ALL considering Nadine has never been near a track, never had a performance car etc etc - well chuffed fro her - her time sheets are her pride and joy at the moment !!!

Thanks to everyone,

Gareth

....Sounds as if Nadine is going to be encouraging you to go to more quarter-mile events! There's one at the GTI International Show in June.

digging into this I found some interesting data (which like dyno numbers can be interpreted but its fun anyway)

http://www.letstorquebhp.com

                                                      1/4          1/4 Terminal mph

Volkswagen   Golf Gti 2.0 (mk5)                15.32   92.81
Volkswagen   Golf Gti 2.0 (mk5) Edition 30   14.49   98.48

I also checked out jonny c (hope you dont mind jonny) previous numbers as he KNOWS how much his car weighs

Power at Flywheel (BHP) :  360
Weight without Driver (KG) :  1310
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) :  279.22
0 - 60 (Secs) :  4.58
0 - 100 (Secs) :  9.97
60 - 100 (Secs) :  5.39
Quarter Mile (Secs) :  12.82
Terminal Speed (MPH) :  113.39
Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) :  12.62
Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) :  115.46

time is lower but mph is also lower indicating (to me at least) that you have more than 360hp jonny  :scared:
So yes you have more to come! incredible.  :happy2:  for a FWD car that is just silly  :evilgrin:

is also fun to try too  :happy2:

Awesome day guys, nice to meet you lot again :happy2:  I cant believe how addictive it is, tried very hard not to spend all day on the strip....

Im real happy with the resultys that i got on the 3 runs, pretty consistant for a virgin dragger.  3 run results below

Reaction  = .6256     -  .8494      - .6341
60ft         = 2.6178   - 2.5156    - 2.6886
330ft       = 6.7400   - 6.5622    - 6.7165
1/8 ET     = 10.0475  - 9.8419   - 10.0032
1/8 MPH  = 76.14      - 76.01     - 75.63
1000' ET  = 12.8075  - 12.5911 - 12.7707
1/4 ET     = 15.2706   - 15.0527 - 15.2483
1/4 MPH  = 96.20       - 95.66    - 92.91

Real pleased with my best time.  was against a std R32, his 60' time was 2.2 mine was 2.5.  By the end he only beat me by .16 and i was closing in at 4.03 MPH   :jumping:  He diddnt look to pleased back at the car park  :grin: :grin: :grin:

Not bad for std  :happy2:
