Had a fantastic day guys...really enjoyed the convoy on the way down too. Seeing all your cars has made me realise how standard the new A3 looked, a few changes in the next few weeks I feel

Hi all!

New on here and i dont own a Mk5,but was up at pod how cold?!!There were some lovley Mk5's up there. I liked the white one with alcons and TD prorace wheels very smart car and quick to  .
Anyway i wanted peoples opions on if they thought the right lane was trapping fast?

Interesting!What mods do you have gt2871r? Thats a quick trap!Did two similar cars ever race next to each other with similar traps as i didnet watch much.Its just my car picked up nearly 25mph between the 1/8 and 1/4,i am new to all this!Prefer trackdays.

Yeah, my car picked up 27MPH from the 1/8th to the 1/4..

I raced Andy in his GT3071R turbo 8P S3 (running around 450hp), he got a better launch but I pulled on him throughout and ended up with a 5MPH higher trap speed..

Remember that Santa Pod is a FIA European Drag racing venue, the times and speeds are not an estimation. I feel a hell of a lot more comfortable quoting figures from Santa pod than I would from GTI International.. Im sure most would feel the same way..

I will have a look,sounds interesting.What did the S3 trap?Was that the black tough looking one  . I will put it down to the tail wind then.

The S3 trapped at 114.58MPH on his 12.7 run, I was next to him on that run, and I trapped 119.54, as I said I was pulling on him like mad at the end of the run..

Why? Do the figures seem to high to be true??

There was a fair few GTI's there on the day with a real mix of modifications, gives a good idea of what was achievable..

Yep mine seem a tad high mate.Part of the reason i came on is because i saw alot of you there ranging from std around 95mphish up to modded alot lol you guys would be able to give a good view.
My run out the right lane was.
60ft-2.31
1/8mph-91.9 @8.7 spins 2nd lol
Et-13.1
1/4 mph- 117.69.

did that twice and one at 116mph.My first run i did in the left lane and it trapped at 112mph but still ran a 13.1 but spun 2nd more.So i switched to the right lane to test for grip and there was definatly more.

Think if you look at my results yours seem very believable, guess your running around 370 - 400hp? With the ambient temps being so low the cars were definitely making good power, but the starts were a bit on the slow side because of traction issues..

As I said, I can only go off my 4 runs, 2 in the left, 2 in the right, and to me they all seemed perfect..

Yep i reckon  370plus but is'nt that a big trap for that.I dynoed in the summer but it had been all day on the dyno mapping and did 355ish on a DD roller.Since then i have started running meth injection thats allowed an extra 4 degrees of ignition on boost!It felt strong up top yesterday but.....The other thing is i have no idea what it weights but would guess 1320-1360kg. Whatever i will take it, and claim bragging rights lol.
