Had mine changed earlier this week (along with ECS mount) at HT Auto's in Garforth and Matt charged £40 plus VAT (and he changed sorted an intermittant light fault - changed the bulb!)

06 plate with 65k on the clock and the type C valve looked brand new.....it doesn't feel as "punchy" on the type D but this could be my perception.....ECS mount has made a real difference though

How much would a garage charge to fit this on an Edition 30? ( VW and INDY) I guess it'll be alot easier than std gti?

I'd attempt it myself, but i managed to break the number plate bulb holders by just looking at them!

Its only four screws matey then it just lifts off - located right at the front of the engine on the eddy. I did mine in about 5 mins.

Cheers guys  :happy2:

I've been paranoid over it after reading these threads. However i went for a blast last night, and im confident that i am certainly not lacking boost.  :pomppomp:

For those that have had remaps like myself, can you hear the turbo spool more and abit louder wastegate 'tshhh' ? Or could that be a sign of a faulty DV?

Just made the change to a oem  d version and although the old one was fine imho the new version does seem to feel as tho it has more pull. Especially at higher revs. For the money and peace of mind alone its worth the small price tag!

Guys, slightly off topic.... Where are you buying the DVs from? Main dealer? I would recommend you use these guys:

http://www.thetradepartsspecialists.co.uk/

Cheaper than main dealer. All oem parts available. I have been informed dealers get their parts from these lads!

They are located in Birmingham so I tend to collect all my stuff. I'm pretty sure they deliver too.  :happy2:

Just done an oil change and changed the DV to a revision 'D'

The revision B it replaced was actually fine... No holes, perfect condition...

Can't say i've noticed any difference yet but need to take it on a long drive :D

Open to the public too mate. Cheaper for trade and taxi drivers though.

I replaced mine yesterday at work and, no word of a lie on my Ed30 it took 5 mins as its located at the front by the engine cover! My mate changed his yesterday on his GTI K03 and it took him 45 mins! Does anyone know why the locations were changed when the Ed30's came out? I definitely noticed it pulling better along with my ITG fitted yesteday too!  :happy2:

I've used TPS before. In fact, when I first went to buy a new air filter at 10k, the VW dealer directed me to these guys as they were out of stock.

They are located in Birmingham.
I just looked up the one in Brum and they're about a mile away from VW Birmingham. Awesome.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
