DSG and Snow ....

(1/3) > >>

SO8:
Being a London type person I can' t really remember the last time we had snow - other than I had a Scooby at the time so couldn't have cared less ....

Now, with a DSG Edition 30 I wondered if there are any special settings for snow or slush ??

I can't see any in the owner's manual - not even the usual drive very slowly and avoid anything other than delicate touches of the brakes, etc, etc.  Other autos go into, say, 3rd with a 'snow' button but if the DSG is manually set to, say, 3rd .... and the gearbox doesn't like it then it changes down ....

Any views ?

Hurdy:
1. Keep the Traction control on
2. Drive steadily
3. Leave it in D mode

 :happy2:

JonnyG:
As Hurdy says in snow and slush  :happy2:

although I sometimes use manual mode on downhill sections to engine brake

It's stopping on icy downhill slopes where DSG is a bit of a worry to me ... what do peeps do in this situation ?

Pray and squeeze butt cheeks.  :driver:

^ PMSL I always wondered why they did not fit a winter setting to the DSG box in the GTI.
