EVAP Canister or regulator valve issue ?
« on: February 01, 2009, 08:33:51 am »
Anyone had a new a problem with either of these ?, i did a vag com check (just a random check) and this fault came up

1 Fault Found:
001089 - EVAP Emission Control Sys: Incorrect Flow
               P0441 - 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded - Intermittent
             Freeze Frame:
                    Fault Status: 00100010
                    Fault Priority: 2
                    Fault Frequency: 3
                    Mileage: 11175 km
                    Time Indication: 0
                    Date: 2000.00.00
                    Time: 07:43:26

             Freeze Frame:
                    RPM: 752 /min
                    Load: 15.3 %
                    Speed: 0.0 km/h
                    Temperature: 87.0°C
                    Temperature: 15.0°C
                    Absolute Pres.: 1000.0 mbar
                    Voltage: 14.351 V

I dont have any issues, and i don't have any lights either, just wondered if anyone else had it, its only intermittent and i cleared the fault and will see if it comes back, i think the worse case scenario is a new canister or valve or both (under warranty), i just wondered what can cause it ?, the time suggests its when i filled up with fuel the other day !, also does anyone know the location of these on the edition 30 ?

Hmm, this post reminds me of my posting a while back about overfilling your fuel tank and if anyone had any issues.

The cannister supposedly becomes sodden with fuel and some bits of charcoal drops down and messes up the N80 valve.

Do you have a knocking noise from your engine bay as that should indicate a problem with the valve?
Without traction power is nothing!

I had the valve replaced under warranty some months ago after the 'emissions' warning light came on intermittently. It would come on, remain on for 48 hours and then go out again. Did this two or three times before I booked it in.

Had no probs for a while then the same pattern repeated. This time they replaced the canister. That was back in October... no light since.

At no point were there any issues with the running... just the light.

What's the issue with brimming the tank?? I always do this; am I wrong??

Cheers,

Shaun
