New wheels any recommendations ??
« on: August 23, 2010, 10:50:22 pm »
Im looking for some new rims, im set on black ! ive been looking at wheel gallerys for the last couple of days and ive found a few i like but none i really love, i am set on et 45s and must be 18"ers.

Im quite liking the black CHs with red centre caps, i also fancy the Black pro race 1.2s but ive yet too see black on a black gti so im not sure how they would look i also think they seem to look quite small on the GTI, love the OZ ultraleggas too but i think they are a bit expensive ? What do ya think, any others ?

also i was wondering if anyone had any problems running et 45 on a lowerd gti. Any rubbing ?

the wheels will be going on this

45 offset is fine on a 8 inch wheel, if you go 8.5 then you will have some issues.  :happy2:

Whats your budget for the wheels and what are you looking for. Ie do you want some light weight ones for extra handling or is it just for looks.  :happy2:

i really want the right wheels TBH, so ive not got a budget so to speak........ I like the ultraleggas but i dont like them so much id spend over a grand on them, thats not to say i wouldnt spend over a grand for the right wheels, they would need to be awesome for me to spend that though.

I dont want anything to heavy and i like the idea of lightweight wheels, but i really want them to look right too.

So there shouldnt be any rubbing issues on 8x18" wheels with an offset of 45 on a gti that has been lowerd about 25mm ?

Cheers

That spec is fine, just got to make sure they clear your brakes, though i cant see that being a issue with your set up.

What about some gloss black Turini's lightweight and stylish as well.  :happy2:

Thats only 3 mil difference.   measure that out between your finger and thumb.   I would say on a lowered car 42et would be preferential.
