I've got a Reflex Silver, with 18" Monza IIs, Ipod connection, Vienna leather, winter pack and a few other toys - looking forward to it, but it's my first FWD car in about 12 years and slightly less powerful than I'm used to!

....I came from a RWD BMW to the FWD GTI and decided to do a one-day course at CarLimits to explore FWD on an airfield.

I would avoid reading anything on this forum about Quaife diffs - You might be tempted to buy one!

Oh dear.
Quaife manufacture great products.

I'll try to learn some FWD roadcraft, but I'm already looking at the sorts of toys I can buy :driver:

Cheers RedRobin.
I too prefer the sound of a BEEP to  a BUMP!

When parking close to other vehicles or in confined spaces I find the parking sensors very useful.

Moschops,
I'll get posting and PM you!

I had a bit of a run-in with Inchcape VW in Telford when they tried to pull the wool over my Mum's eyes and suggested all sort of things needed replacing and were damaged - being a Chartered Engineer I confronted them and gave them the benefit of doubt and they went back on everything that they said was wrong!

Haha , I like that phrase "slightly less powerful than I'm used to"!! I'm coming from a 68BHP Skoda Fabia , so Im sure my GTI will feel just fine compared to that! Enjoy your car when you get it!

....I remember well counting the sleeps! And that was 5 years ago.

Do you sleep with the GTI brochure by your bedside? Or under your pillow?

Just picked my car up - looking fantastic, a dealer who can valet a car too!
29MPG on the way home; about 11 more than I'm used too :happy2:
A tank of Optimax as a treat too.

Looking forward to getting to know her now  :driver:

Excuse the iPhone photos!

Looking very smart mate.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Cheers.

Just got to get used to it now and start adding little "extras!"

I'll give it a thorough clean and polish tomorrow - even though I was reasonably impressed by the dealer's efforts
