Who just bought this ED30?
« on: August 25, 2010, 04:45:36 pm »
Just been speaking to sales person and getting a price on my car as a trade in against this booked the day off tomorrow to go for a test drive and got email 30 mins later saying sorry it's just been sold.

Seemed a good price to me and worth overstretching my budget for.

It had 72k on the clock.. anyone else think it was a Barge Inn ?

Does look very cheap for an Ed30, altho the pics dont show it close up enough for an idea of the full spec... Altho can see it has no parking sensors, no xenons, mileage is pretty high as well and for me personally..... its got too many doors lol

Wonder why its as cheap as it is, there must be a reason for it to be out of line with other Ed30's surely  :popcornsoda:

Not sure if anyone is reading this or I'm talking to myself but....

I sent a cheeky email to the lady I was dealing with saying looks like that car is up for sale already with a link to it on Pheads... within mins I got a call from her telling me I must be mistaken as the car is still sat on the forecourt in front of her now... I did think that the car on Pheads had more tinited windows on the back, thus this suggests the car in the pic isn't the actual car... I replied and said he is selling the same car as the number plates match... she replied how do you know what the number plate was as I never told you... I replied you can see it in the photo (obviously they should be more careful when taking the photos and putting them on there site if they don't want people to see them) and it matches the number the seller gave me... she replied so what is it then (guess she didn't believe me) so gave her the plate... silence.. then ok seems like this guy is fraudulently trying to sell our car then as the person buying the car a)hasn't picked it up and b) has a different name to the bloke selling the car on Pheads....

Interesting.. well I thought it was anyway... hope she updates me on what the outcome is.. she said she'd give me 1st refusal if it fell through.. not sure it'll be at the same price though !

This all seems incredibly dodgy. Buying a car is such a pain in the arse sometimes.

Well spotted!  :happy2:

I think the the person buying the car must be the same person who is selling it on, just using a different name incase of any suspicions. Obviously he hasn't picked the car up yet but has stolen somebody else's pics to advertise it for the meanwhile...

Be interesting to hear his reply when someone asks to view the car...

want some more?

Lady just called me again saying that the guy has just turned up and it is the guy selling it on Pheads (sounds like you were right Mandy) so I bet he wondered what the hell when they started quizzing him about his pheads advert  :signLOL: anyway I can only assume he paid a deposit over the phone yesterday to hold the car as it seems he hasn't bought it yet.. the lady said that he has got until 4pm today to decide.. the guy admitted he is merely buying it to sell straight on for a profit and is making some calls now to perspective buyers (garages maybe?)  before he lets her know whether he wants it.

So I might be getting a call at 4 asking if I want it... and she said it will be at the 10,495 price

Guess what    :pomppomp: :driver:  :pomppomp:

several phone calls later and deposit down...

The manager at motorhouse was not a happy bunny with all the shenanigans going on with the pheads bloke and when the guy insisted on taking the car and V5 away now he refused saying this is not how we work we do 120 point checks, valet etc.. before we let it go and we don't sell to traders so here's yer deposit back now pee off....  So Ive put a holding deposit down which holds it for 2 weeks so will be heading up there on Saturday to check it out...

So in answer to the subject of this thread ME (if all is good)
