I started off with the touring cars, battery then Nitro power.

The sound of the engine screaming to 50,000 rpm and the nitro smell just got me addicted.

I race 1/8th scale off buggy's now. Flying over to race at Slough this weekend. It is an International event with loads off top drivers.

Looks like I could be buying this Tamiya for racing indoors this winter, cheap to run and look after.

Wow! I didn't expect so much enthusiasm about this Tamiya model when I started this thread. Nor that it would bring so many racers out of the woodwork.

Great!  :drinking:

Yeah, the track at Slough is reguarded as one of the best in the UK at the moment.

Racing is all this weekend starting Sat with the finals on Monday.

Boys with toys and there are a few females who are fairly handy at the controls also.

You can buy unpainted shells for them too. I've had one for a while and masked it up and painted it BMP from the inside. They've got light controllers and all sorts.

It's good for a laugh with my 2 pugs. Makes them go mental.

Methinks I need to get out my (static) 1/12th scale Tamiya cars and post some pics.
