Help me choose my next mod...........
« on: February 02, 2009, 05:07:04 pm »
Right.....I've just had the fortune of gaining around £400-500 through this that and the other...

What should I spend it on??? Couple of points to note:

1) Coilovers and WALK are being fitted in beginning of March - so don't need those.
2) I want something functional, that I will see/feel the difference. Basically this rules out exterior modifications such as OSIR carbon stuff!
3) A new short-shift will be coming in due-course, once Forge launch the revised version for 08MY cars.
4) The vinyl will be put back on within two weeks also.
5) I don't need an intake, TBE, remap, Forge DV...

I've got a couple of ideas of my own...

1) Full engine mounts
2) Wheel refurb (either black with a red lip, or kept silver with the spoke inserts done black and a red lip)
3) ARBS

I look forward to hearing your ideas!

Chris.

Got a Carbonio on at the moment.

If I fit an EVOMS, then I will start getting into fuel pump issues.

I probably should have posted my spec so that people dont suggest mods that I already have!

Its a tough one Chris because you already have most mods known for the Mk 5 platform.

I would say those porsche reps that you drool over regularly.

A free weekend in Paris if anyone can find a mod that he doesn't already have.  :fighting2:

^^ Haha! How did I know you'd say that Nath!!

Believe me, I'm very tempted. Yours looked absolutely stunning yesterday. And for the record, in my opinion yours was the best of the GTI's there, it just looked fantastic.

I'd only consider the APR version, and that is around £700. Although I could go for the exchange-based deal which would work out at around £500, but then I'd have to pay fitting etc.

Something to consider as well I guess though.

....

Put aside what £££ you've got and add some more to it as and when you are able. Then get a Quaife!

How long do you plan to keep your GTI? [You've doubtless told me but I've forgotten].

Can anyone tell me what benefit I will see from ARBS??

Also the views of those who have had them fitted, possibly in isolation so that I can understand their exact contribution towards handling?
