A new Thread/Sticky for Tutorials
« on: August 30, 2010, 08:27:43 pm »
Was just wondering if it would be possible to have a Thread/Sticky that is purely just Tutorials.

I have done a few and i know others have and although we have a search function it might be easier for people to find the tutorial they are looking for if all held centrally.

It could be a Locked thread that the Tutorial maker has to get a Mod to add so as to make sure it doesn't get cluttered with carp.

Or it could just be moderated and any non tutorial threads etc moved/deleted.

Just an idea i'm throwing out there.

Obviously there could either be a disclaimer, along the lines of the one i always start with in mine, that has to be added or just a Read Me which states that the Site, owners and tutorial maker are not liable if anything goes wrong.

Thoughts?….

I have been talking with PG about doing this, having a whole section of threads for how to;s and common faults, mostly for guests and newbs who like to keep asking the same stuff. Its just finding the time to collate all the threads that are worthwhile.

good idea though.  :happy2:

What about an indexed thread?

The first post contains a list of things eg how to do this, part number for that (all depending on the thread nature) and each item in the list is hyperlinked to a post later in the thread.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
