.
Heavy rain in the night but sunny now in the SouthWest. Decided not to go as I need to be doing some things later. Drive 4hrs, stay 2hrs and drive back 4hrs isn't worth it.

Well, I'm hoping for some great times from the guys who've gone to the Pod today. The weather was cool and crisp this morning and the sunshine was trying to come out too. That means the intake temps should be spot on and the heat from the sun should make the track a little stickier. Reminds me of the day when JonnyC made his 12.6 :happy2:
Golf R gone.

I'm sat in the queue as I'm writing this . Some good times so far. A stage 2 plus Cupra has done a 13.3 at 108mph, a mk1 lcr done a 13.9 which is meant to be extremely good for those cars apparently.

I've done a 12.8 on my first run with a stock car. Epc light came one last night then got the engine light this morning. Vag com can't get rid of the check sum error which basically means there is a programming error in the ecu and I'm only getting stock performance as a result which is annoying but atleast I know what a stock car can do.

Trip back to AMD for me which is just a unnecessary hassle buyt oh well

Knew there was an excuse coming! Was saying to Ben your terminal of 110mph was same as his 13.1 first run.

Very busy today lots of stoppages and strip only started running at midday. Not too many from forum are running as a result.

Good to meet up wiv usual peep and good turnout too! Not quite the 50 cars as listed tho.

Yeah today isn't a good day for actually doing some runs. Ye I looked at my slip and was like hold up that's a stock time, and then it clicked in my head cause the same thing happened to my mate save with his Sportec mapped car, he was getting check sum errors and our stage 2 plus cupras where quicker than his care even though he was supposedly mapped.

Would love to come back next weekend to do some more runs with te map sorted but am working sadly. Looks like I will have to wait till next year unless there are other strips in the country that are still open in November.

Will rant about it tomorrow or day after.

Anywayz, I want to say thanks to the Midlands convoy for turning up on time and not getting lost.

Also was nice to meet you - some I've met before, some for the first time. Would have been good if there'd been more space so we could have done some decent footage. And thanks to cmdrfire for taking pics.

Singh123 - was great to try the sachs+dmf combo. Very heavy but otherwise smooth.

T_T: thanks for your help today. Will detail the ride home in another thread later.

Moschops: will need to PM you. Thanks for the stuff though.

Well i've just got in myself and i'm shattered.. Had to leave about half 3 as my mate had to get back for a meal. I did try and say my goodbyes to those who I could find (sorry Carlo  :ashamed:).
As for the day, well, er, typical Santa Pod shambolic organisation again   :fighting: Got there at 9:30 and straight in the queue.. Track opened around lunch time and managed a massive total of 3 runs (1 of which was a total balls up  :ashamed:).
The start line was a joke, never known it to be as bad as that for traction and as a result my best 60ft time was a quite shocking 2.52  :ashamed: :chicken:  (ran a 2.2 on my previous 13.1 @ 109mph)..
Run 1

Run 2

So a nice improvement on my terminal speed (previously 109mph) and definately a 12 sec run in there when I get a normal 60ft time again. Just wish I could of got chance to have a couple more runs, but at nearly 2 hours between runs, that clearly wasn't happening..  :fighting:
Would of also been nice to have a chat with the rest of you guys too, instead of fecking queueing all day.. :sad1:

Great to meet people today, good to see some of the cars going up the strip and sat in the car park.  Was amazing the amount of broken Fiats on the side of the road or tow trucks just outside the track lucky how they made it back to public roads before exploding!
