Disappointing is a real understatement.
I hardly met anyone yesterday. The organisation and the track was terrible.
Got there at 9.45am and joined the queue. Finally got to the start line, and being a total newb to the dragstrip I didn't know how the starting lights worked at all.
When I eventually set off, the wheels just spun, and spun.
The fact that I had Brand new tyres on the car probably didn't help either. (they literally had done 30miles before I set off to the pod).
I managed a 14.8 @ 105.9mph and a 14.3 @106.9mph (with a passenger)
(didn't get chance OR have enough time to have any more runs with just me in the car).
The fella in that gorgeous Noble, managed a 16.9, and that monster Firebird, did a 27.7
Like I said, the main thing that Pi$$ed me off, was the fact, I didn't get to meet everyone. After all the waiting for the strip to open and my first run, I just pressumed that the queue would go quite quickly. How wrong can you be.
I never really saw the attraction to going down the strip in a straight line for a few seconds, and after my first Pod experience I doubt I will do it again.
I'd rather go round a track. :happy2
