Perhaps not what might be expected as an 'atmospheric' shot, but....

^ Large Red Damselfly (Pyrrohsoma nymphula) laying eggs in my wildlife (no fish) pond.

Not technically going to win any awards but a shot I'm pleased with using my compact digital (useless on Manual!) FinePix F200EXR. Kinda looks arty. I was amazed how unperturbed the Damsel was but then realised that if you were on the toilet (equivalent of squeezing out eggs) and someone stuck a camera in yer face you wouldn't really have much choice.

Any comments welcome.

Gonna post more pics from this session in my RR's Wildlife Portfolio thread.

Very nice shot, great to capture the iridescence of the wings.

^ On one of my local beaches the other evening.

Spotted a Peregrine Falcon and a Rock Pipit with my new binoculars while there.

I like the second shot the best as the lighting is more dramatic

I sort of took that shot tongue in cheek

^ Shot on zoom with my FinePix F200 EXR digital compact. It's impossible to control the focus field because the aperture is either F 3.3 or 9.0 and nothing inbetween - It's not up to your pin-sharp standard, Rich. But it can fire gentle flash when Macro is set < Strange!

I keep thinking I want a better quality camera but being able to carry my camera in my pocket all the time does get me photos. I didn't see the incoming red flyer at the time of taking the shot - A happy accident.

The red strip is part of a photo I took of a newt in my pond at night and is a water lily leaf.
