Fault codes - any idea what's wrong?
« on: September 09, 2010, 10:53:41 am »
Keep getting the same codes when read on my friends Solus plus.

001089 evap emission control system - incorrect flow

000665 lower limit reached

00323 inclination sensor g384 no signal

Any ideas what's causing this and how to fix it? I tried getting it done through warranty  but the garage said they couldn't fix it as they didn't understand. The dealer I bought it from isn't interested either. Might have to go to a main dealer and fork out again to have the diagnostics read.

If the car has a warranty then I would be making them sort it out, I dont think the defense of "we dont understand the fault" is acceptable.
This is exactly why I dont like aftermarket warranties, if they can fob you off without having to cough up they will, dont bend over!!

I used to get the same evap one with the edition 30, never found out what it was and when cleared it would stay away for a while too, never had any downsides with it either on reading atoms I found it was related to the charcoal canister and iys associated pipes , have you cleared the codes to see if they come back

Garage cleared them twice and the mechanic I use has cleared them twice. Engine management light stats off for quite a while like you experienced but does eventually return. The garage told me the fault is so small and infrequent that they couldn't find it. Their advice was to ignore it unless there is a loss of performance or similar.

I'm not at all impressed with this warranty! It seems my best option might be VW as they hopefully will be able to sort it. I bet AA will find a way of wriggling out of paying for whatever it is. Gits.
