Cheers pal!
i would like to say if you are having coilovers on your that having them setup makes a massive massive change
The firm that I used to fit/set them up are quite knowledgeable and have years of experience of setting up race cars, and run their own MK5 on KW Clubsports. Obviously I got the 4-wheel alignment done, but didn't go for corner-weighting as I'd been told by a few firms that it wasn't really essential and that the MK5 was relatively easy to set-up accurately without it. Plus I was pretty short on funds.
If funds allowed, then I probably would have done it!
However, corner-weighting definitely is something I want to get done in the near future - just to see what difference it makes!
The reason that I was asking about tyres was just because of Mark's comments RE how well yours drove, and as tyres make such a big difference on handling I wanted to know what was on yours. I too have the Goodyear Assym's fitted on mine. A few months ago, Keith from JKM drove mine (before the Bilsteins were fitted) and commented that it didnt handle as well as other GTI's that he'd driven on stock suspension - and specifically asked what tyres I had fitted. I've found the Goodyears to be ok, but I think I'll go for some Michelin PS2's next!
Looking forward to seeing the pics of the new stance of your car Mat! Thanks again for answering my question
