Kenwood ignition issue
« on: September 09, 2010, 09:21:44 pm »
Just tried fitting a kenwood DDX unit but it wouldn't switch on/off using the key, just via the power button at the front.

Before anyone suggests it, yes I did try swapping the red and yellow wires!!! But to no avail.

I have a Parrot ck3100 fitted too, so I even tried it with the Parrot loom removed, but made no difference.

Anyone any ideas? So close yet so far!

The VW doesn't have a switched ignition live at the quadlock.  That's your problem.

The OEM units are switched on and off using CAN commands.

So I read.

I think I'll have to tap into the fusebox feed for the parrot and connect it to the red ignition on the HU loom.
