mk5 gti problems..
« on: September 09, 2010, 11:23:23 pm »
Bought an 07 mk 5 about 3 months ago since owning the vehicle i have had a remap. Just before havin this done it started to cut out at junctions whilst on tick over.. I had the re map done an everythin was fine but would still cut out once or twice whilst at a junction. Since then it has started to get worse! It cuts out more regulaly but only on tickover also seems a little under power and splutters when pulling away...

Had it plugged in to a diagnostics computer and no faults where shown!

Any help????

Also fitted a forge blow off valve which has started to hiss on low revs as if its losing pressure..

Some things that affect idle are PCV and Oil Filler Cap.

Try removing the Forge valve and refitting the OEM one.

Absolutely as above - Take that DV off and put the OEM one back on, it's surprising how many problems can be caused by the DV itself.

as VRStu said, alot of tickover issues are down to a leaky PCV
