Back with a mk5 though!
« on: September 10, 2010, 12:56:24 pm »
Been a member on here for ages but havent posted in a while. Finally got myself a mk5 golf. 3 Door DPB R32. Love it, drives great and the noise is unreal. Have posted up pictures of the fabia before but heres how i got round to the R32....

Got a works van at the start of the year so the diesel wasnt required anymore so sold this.....

The fabia was meant to be a daily runner that stayed standard, it ended up staying a daily runner but was far from standard. It went 50 miles every day to work with a bootful of tools, and still won show and shines at the weekends! Was an awesome car. Ended up stripping it an selling it as standard.  Meanwhile while the fabia was advertised i picked up a cheap toy to make money on, wasnt looking but it was just the right place at the right time. Bought this for £1400 with a blown up diff....

Fitted a new gearbox, fully detailed the car top to bottom ( including seats and most of the centre console out ), machine polished the car, fitted the private plate off of the fabia, cupra splitter and wound the coilovers down. I then drove it to GTI international where it won the show and shine Best Skoda which was great after winning it the year before in the fabia.  It had a crazy spec, 7k worth of engine work, coilovers, pro race wheels, pioneer head unit and speakers, ipod and changer, fully polybushed and was putting out 300bhp. Was a serioulsy fast car but it just wasnt for me and the fact that i hadnt built it made it difficult when it came to replacing bits and trying to change bits......so i advertised it and more than doubled my money while keeping all the standard bits to sell and the pioneer head unit. Heres how it looked when i sold it....

I then went and bought a DBP Mk5 R32. To say i love it is an understatement. It had the private plate, a non res Milltek cat back when i bought it. Flew down and drove 450 miles home in it and cant praise the guy i bought it off enough for being a genuine and really nice guy! I had been looking for one for so long so wanted a good spec and wasnt prepared to buy one that wasnt perfect. I took a paint depth gauge with me and checked the car over before i parted with the money. Heres a few pictures of the car as it sits today, havent had a chance to machine polish it yet, might leave it till after the winter if im honest. Only changes i have made are change the interior lights to white LED's and fitted new numberplates and numberplate led's to freshen it up.

Ha it on a rolling road at Extreme in Whitburn and it made 257bhp so was happy with that.

spec is :  Recaro Rs4 style bucket seats, Sat Nav, Auto Dimming mirror,  Heated seats and mirrors, Bottle opener (option?)

On the way home in what will probably be my 2nd home now...Shell Garage.

Seats:

Well sorry for the book but thought id do the re-intro right! Cheers, Euan

Hi and Welcome.. :driver:

I would say only the Recaro Seat and Sat Nav are the options on your R, the other bits and bobs are standard fitment. looks sweet.. :happy2:
Cheers,

Nice car. Interior looks a bit tired though.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Cheers guys. It's a milltek non res cutback that's on it, the sound is amazing. Just drive about with the windows down and a grin on my face. Haha.

The interiors in mint nick, the pictures were just after I got it and I had only polished it quickly by hand. Seats have been leather conditioned since and the backs all polished up so are looking a bit better now.
