Services and typical charges
« on: February 05, 2009, 08:02:32 pm »
Could someone please post up a summary of what happens in each service (perhaps for TD and LL?) along with estimated costs?

Breeze Poole told me my first service would be in the region of £200 but I'm sure from you guys, it's less?

^^^ TD = Time and Distance = 1 year or 10K

LL = Long Life = Variable upto 2 years or 20K

General recommendation is T&D but with the higher spec oil used for the Long Life services  :happy2:

Given I've never been to a dealer service in my life before, what do I need to take with me when I drop the car off? I know I'll need the licence for the replacement car (a mate had his car serviced recently and got  a 1.4l polo).

my local vw stealers are sh*t, they had no courtesy cars available for weeks and my baby was desperately in need of a service, so I had to rent a car from enterprise!!!
enterprise would only let me have a 1.0l kia heap of dog poo due too my young whippersnapperish age!! vw did pay for it though! but still none too happy

Im on the LL service, I paid £170ish, still not had a brake fluid change,  im on 23,000 miles and the car is on a 56 plate

About to pay £275 - this is for a LL service and includes spark plugs and pollen filters.  This will be the third service on my car at 32,500 miles (it's been approx 14 months since the last service), other serives were at 13,000 (approx) and 26,000 (approx) and were around the £190-£210 mark.

Just out of curiosity:

My car is on LL service at the mo.
Car states it requires a service (at 8k miles) and after 12 months of being registered.
Will it have a LL or TD service?

If it's LL, might be why dealer said it was £200 mark rather than around £100.

BUMPITY:

Is there any paperwork I need to take with me when I hand the car in for servicing?
