Hello mate, depends what VW oil you mean, you want to use Quantum Longlife 3 5w30, it's cheap-ish, depending where you go... It's £25-35 for 5 litres if you negotiate with the dealer (or try TPS they will do it for cheap).

I've always used the Quantum oils on my previous SEAT's, that said, a lot of people on here use Castrol EDGE 5w30.

You won't go wrong with either, whichever you can get the best deal on :)

Guys,

David @ SERE Motors (A SEAT Parts dealer) offers Quantum Synta 3 for £35 inc P&P for 5L

It's actually £25, but he has to send via PF which is £10, but it's still cheaper than any dealer i've ever used! Plus he is brilliant with parts orders too, beating everyones prices. :happy2:

Do NOT use Quantum Platinum in the GTI - it is NOT 504.00 rated!

If that is a litre bottle - the part number is GVW 052 195 M2, retail £15.57, trade £8.56.

But if you wanted exactly the same brew oil in a Castrol bottle with an Audi logo, part number is GAU 052 195 M2, retail £16.04, trade £8.82.

Typical Audi 'premium'!  :fighting:

But whilst the Quantum oils are made by Castrol, they categorically are NOT as good as the genuine Castrol branded brews.  Just look at the Technical Data Sheets for Quantum LL3 and Castrol Edge 504.00.

Quantum oils are perfectly fine for say a 1.9 TDI plodding up and down the motorway, or by the yummie-mummies in their diesel Tourans on the school runs - but for spanking a high performance mapped/tuned petrol turbo in a GTI - Quantum definately are not the best choice of slippery stuff.

Castrol Edge is in either 1 litre or 4 litre packs.  The Quantum stuff is 5 litres.
