Mornin' Jules  :happy2:

Yep, I considered the Sportback along with the Mk5 GTI back in 2005 but the GTI, although not the prettiest of cars being a hatchback, had more presence/charisma (for my taste) and a bit more load headroom in the back.

A future test-drive of a RS-S3 would have to involve me stopping off at home to see if my music gear would fit in the back. The RS performance and hopefully sound would be difficult to resist. Yes, I'd love a Cayman S or a TT-RS but need the Golf/Sportback practicality.

My fingers are crossed with yours.

....That doesn't quite sound right, Jules!

It doesn't does it  :signLOL:

What about a few hundred pound Volvo estate for the gear and a TT-RS

What sort of figures are you getting with those mods?

Was running around 360bhp & 365 lbs.

Cheers for the nice comments again! And yeah I like the sleeper look.

Gotta say that the Sportback is my favourite of the S3 range.

Will a Sportback RS-S3 with S-tronic come out one day, I wonder?

The RS3 is only going to be offered as a Sportback which I'm very annoyed about as I don't like having more doors than I need.
Only 250.1bhp - but with that noise, who cares?

The last I heard the RS3 wasn't even on the cards anymore....

....If that's the case there's a part of me which is also very annoyed because I might want one!!

Until Audi make an official announcement we can only speculate.

They have, more or less. It's existence has been confirmed. 2700 units, all in annoying 'more-door' Sportback form. Such a waste.

Pricing is expected to be Golf R +£10k

in the last few days, I read an article that the starting price would be around £45k.  they simulated a Full spec using S3 costings, and a full spec was well over £50k.

I will see if I can find it in my history.

I'd definitely want fairly full spec: S-tronic, Recaro's (if not standard option), full black glass roof like Stu's, and then a Milltek just to enjoy the zorst music. Otherwise I wouldn't find it worthwhile (even if I did manage to afford it).
