Help, Gti wont start
« on: September 27, 2010, 03:55:17 pm »
Im hoping some of you can help me.
I have a 55 reg gti, sent it into the body shop for the bumper, and passanger side wing and sill painting, they finished the work but now cant drive it home.
They drove it into the booth but had to push it out. The problem is something electrical im certain but my ecu is locked? The previous owner had it mapped by who knows and they have locked the ecu i think so nobody can copy the software.

Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes all is normal on the dash, battery has charge, plenty of petrol and oil.
Was serviced by VW two weeks earlier and everything was fine.
The car turns over but nothing happens  :sad1:

Not a member of any of those, i thought being tight would pay off, how wrong was i.
Nobody seems to be able to get into the ecu at all, im not that technically minded but if a normal garage cant get on into the ecu would the vag com?
If so then i think that would have to be the next step.
