I've had quite a lot of phones in the past but none that i have used or even the latest ones i've played with are as good a package as the iPhone.

Just my opinion

iphone 4 (Apple)
HTC Desire HD (Android just released handset)
or maybe wait for the windows offering due soon?

do you need big screen / actual keyboard or you ok with touchscreen? / battery life (is a day ok?) / any apps / business needs you have to support.
do you already have a gmail account you use?

for me , android handset it would be  :happy2:

(Im on HTC Nexus One running Android 2.2, but there are newer handsets about like the HTC Desire HD above)

dont be left behind mate. I promise if you buy an iphone, you wont be overwhelmed by it, or disappointed. by overwhelmed i mean you wont be overfaced with how different it is to what you might be using now. as i said before, they just work. they interface is refreshingly simple and even my mum uses one and that says a lot!

they are brilliant mate

Depends what you actually want. I like a phone to be a phone and for that reason, I have one of these:
I used to have an iphone but it's not really a phone... it's a small computer with loads of features and functions with a phone in it. I like a small phone that is slim and easy to use as a phone with not much in the way of gimmicks.
If you want to have an internet browser, games machine, loads of apps etc and sometimes use the phone then yes the iphone is for you. If you want a phone that sometimes is used for these other features, then I'd look elsewhere :drinking:

I remember when the craze was for smaller and smaller phones and I liked this as it's less of a bulk in my pocket. Now the craze is for more and more things and the phone's size has increased again which I don't like.

Give me back my old Nokia 8210, that was the right size for a mobile

I am allowed to have an opinion of my own and just because i happen to like Apple products i don't see why people should get upset/take offence by it

Have to say, ive been very sold on the whole Apple brand with their marketing and even having tried one and it didnt do the things i wanted for some reason still have a desire to want one - damn marketing!!!

I, however do use the HTC Desire and its a great phone and does all the little things i wanted that the iPhone didnt.
If you just want a phone to be a phone then i'd recommend avoiding smartphones in general as they wont have the battery life you'll likely want. That said, i've recently stumbled across an app for Android called Juice Defender and its improved my battery life hugely but tweeking settings depending on if the screen is locked or not etc

If you just want a phone tho then i'd look thru what Nokia have to offer
