Airbag Fault After RNS-510 Install?
« on: September 20, 2010, 02:24:57 pm »
I have just installed my RNS-510, as soon as I started the car an Airbag fault appeared in the dispay with a warning light?

Is the installation of the RNS-510 related?

Could be the airbag indicator on the central vent, if that got un-plugged and the ignition was on then you will need to clear the code, or it  could still be diss-connected?  otherwise it shouldnt be causing any issues.

Airbag indicator? would this be visible when installing the RNS-510 when the centre dash has been dissembled?

Have you had the battery disconnected?

I can't see why you would need to disconnect the AirBag indicator on the central console to fit and MFD3 but it's worth checking to see if it has somehow been knocked.

If nothing looks amiss and you just had the battery disconnected the light should go away within 200m of driving the car.

Battery was never disconnected, I suppose it's worth checking is the cables in the centre dash is still connected up properly. If not does this require the dealer to fix the fault? i.e. vagcom?

If you can find someone with VCDS they could clear the code for you.

If it is then a problem it will come back. At which point i would then be in to the dealer.

As said, airbag indicator centre dash.  Must have turned the Ignition on without it being connected (maybe to test the rns?).
