What format are you using? fwiw your standard 2005 year HU will not play mp3.

As a general guide, use good quality cdrs and record at low speed.

Standard GTI HUs will only read CD-audio discs and may have issues with CD-RW (I can't remember whether mine used them or not). Also, avoid the cheapo discs. Best go for something like Verbatim and as above, burn at the slowest speed.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Is that easily done mate, I take it you pop the lead in the back and feed it into the glove box?

Also can the ipod be controled atall via the standard HU with the lead inplace?

its very easy to fit mate, straight plug and play and feed the cable to glove box.

you cant scroll through the tracks via the ipod itself but can do via the HU. TBH it's better this way as you proberly cant or dont want to reach in the glove box and mess about with the ipod whilst driving.

once the cable and ipod is hooked up, all you do is press the CD button on the HU and then you'll be in "IPOD" mode, if you want to go back and listen to your CD's (multi changer) then you again press the CD Button and now you'll be back in "CD MODE"

Hope that helps  :happy2:
