Clutch judder on bite
« on: September 23, 2010, 06:56:08 pm »
I'm fairly new to the forum so you will have to forgive me if this has been answered before.
I've done a little search and can't find any info relating to a standard edition 30 only faults with mapped cars.

I've notice since having my edition 30 for about a month now that if I hold the car on the bite and ride the clutch I get a judder or ticking/knocking sound. I admitted I don't notice it a lot only really when I'm reversing in to my drive, and am just taking up drive.

The clutch isn't slipping as have tested it out. Sounds like a release bearing sound but obviously not.

Is this normal behave for the gti's ? My car is completely standard with 30k on the clock.

Any advice would be great.

I get the same as this, I would like to know also if the "ticking noise" and slight juddering is a problem...

At least I'm not alone!

What is your car and mileage?

Is it standard?

Hopeful someone will be along soon to say it's normal.

I've never owned a car with a DMF, so it might be a characteristic of one.

Has yours always done it since you have owned it?

Cheers, doesn't seem like to much to worry about at the moment.

I might go back to the dealers to get them to check it out as i've brought it from them with a years warranty and it's still under it's original 3 year warranty to.

If I can get a new clutch and DMF it would be a bonus.

My edition 30 did it from new, VW even put a new DMF and flywheel in mine and it was exactly the same, it's a feature of the DMF
