Torrents for a complete computer novice

Hey folks

Can someone please explain to me in simlpeton computer language how i go about downloading files using torrents please.

You need to use a program such a bittorrent or utorrent.

http://www.utorrent.com/

Then there are loads of site you can go to such as isoHunt and BTJunkie. Search for what you want and then click the download torrent. The rest will make sense when you do that.


Most stuff will be illegal to download but im sure there are lots of free legal downloads available aswel.

Cheers for the info mate.

Now ive downloaded the file using bit torrent and ive moved it to my desktop now i cant seem to be able to get it to play!!!

What file is it?

Music/Video?

The next thing I downloaded was VLC player. Much better than windows media player.

Its a Xvid video file so i imagine i will now need to download a player that supports the format!!!

Would the VLC player do that?

Yes. Like SAM said, watch out for viruses. Reading the comments usually helps.

i used to be on these sites a very very lot a few years back...don't down load on illegal sites  or very little like i did..or you will get a knock on the door in the early hours of the morning of trading standards like i did :signLOL:
