FK arb links
« on: September 25, 2010, 10:35:26 am »
Hi fellas. the passenger side arb link has become worn on my gti. Trouble is that they were supplied with my FK highsport coilover kit, and are about 3 cm shorter than the original ones. Has anyone had this problem before, and if so where did they get replacement ones from?
the arb links supllied with the kit are about 33cm long, the origionals are about 36 cm.

Will they adjust long enough do you think? they need to be about 33cm long. Only reason i ask is that i thought generally it was the mk4 guys who had trouble with arb links, and they are shorter to start with than what i need i think, please correct me if im wrong. So i was assuming these adjustable links would be aimed at mk4s

I have just replaced my FK droplinks direct from FK cost me about £70 but they are different from the original and the thread is actually bigger?

I had to open the hole on the struts so I could get the link in...Also it seams they have supplied 2 left ones cos the ones I had originally where handed???

Were the links the same length as the ones supplied with your coilovers? are they a 19mm nut now then the new ones you have fitted? i assume the ones you replaced were 17mm if youve had to drill the holes out?

Thanks for that Darren. I contacted the K sport uk website and the guy replied saying they didnt do them, but would possibly be able to sort some out for me, but he hasnt got back to me. I previously contacted FK directly. i answered all the questions they had about the suspension and bolt sizes etc. they told me the ones i needed (item fkkss04 mk4 fitment) so i ordered them, when they came they were 4cm too short. I sent them back and contacted them again, told them even more info and they still say its those i need. I dont get it? :stupid: Could you tell me the overall length of those ones you have please?
