Yeah I know Lee... School boy error. Never again.

The wrong map was installed because they had not received the Updated one from REVO. I've come away with free DSG software so I'm not fussed. Clive atthowe Norwich loaded it.

Thanks QD, isnt he on this forum I recognise that blue Porsche. :-)

I have to ask why the cover was removed if you were just having an oil change?

I have no idea alex.... The guy was a total muppet. Never again. How can an oil change present such a problem, it must be page one of "how to be a mechanic"

Lesson learnt!

Ok guys...........  :-(

Anyway, the revo map is superb and the DSG software seems good too, not sure it's worth the 250+ price tag though, but I wasn't gonna turn it down. (I have lost the DSG fart in manual mode, presumably due to the shorter shift duration)

....I feel the same about the DSG software - A lot to pay for something very subtle. However, if it produced results which were in yer face there'd be something wrong somewhere!

New GTI engine cover by Rich Wigley, on Flickr

 :happy2:

I also took an executive decision to bin the ITG panel filter because it was covered in tar and filthy, so I'm back on paper filters from now on (unless I get an intake)

....Just change the OEM paper filter very regularly, say every 10,000 miles. My ITG got filthy too - I guess it was doing its job well.
