Remind us, who did the refurb and did they tint the lacquer?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Done by Lepsons mate. I don't think the lacquer is tinted (its just primed/paint/clearcoat), but the paint is BBS chrome. I think its got more of a metallic flake than the OEM colour, and probably a shade lighter. Not had chance to compare them to be honest but I'm happy with the colour.

^ So I'm guessing that this shot is the most representative of the colour. It's certainly my favourite  :happy2:

They look great.  Perfect colour.  What wheels have you got on at the minute?

Your wheels look great , you must be pleased with them
This puts me in a tricky position though , as I've been thinking of replacing my pescaras with monza shadows. However after seeing your refurb im not sure what to do now. Decisions decisions.....

There are a few imperfections in the clearcoat, which I'm sure once they are on they will be almost impossible to see. Also on the inner rim, there are a few marks, but once again you won't be able to see them once on. I paid 280+VAT (would be less if it were not for he special chrome paint), took my wheels monday and they were ready by thursday.

Still waiting for the Gtechniq stuff to come through the post  :sad1:

Thanks for all the comments guys, pescaras really do look awesome when they are fresh.

Rich

Ill let you know mate, you've got first dibs. I went for spraying because thats whats the OEM finish, and you won't get that colour with powder coat ( i dont think)

The only difference between powder and spray is that bits of hot brake pad can contaminate powder-coated wheels 'cos it melts a bit.
