Cars in tomorrow. 5k service and full set of front subframe bolts, as the current ones are shagged and won't stay tight.

Gonna do 5k servicing from now on. I do mainly short journeys these days >50miles... And she gets driven, so at 84000 I think it's sensible to up the maintainance.

Good work Rich - used to service my mkiv every 5k once it was seriously tuned.
Every 10k was a garage service and every 5k I'd change the oil & filter at home.
Should help the car no end

So all the subframe bolts replaced and tightened up to correct spec. Seems better.

Got a few things to do this year... Cam chain, and timing belt need doing. I think the mechatronics unit is on its last legs too so that will be getting changed over the next 2 years, or if it dies.  :sad1:

Also needs the valves cleaning

Mines just hit 85k too. How do you know the mechatronics unit is failing?
I've not got my service book with me either but is the timing chain due at this mileage too or is that just a precaution?

Have you looked into treacle for the valves? I'd never heard of it till yesterday and I thought it might be good for my valves but there seems very hit and miss reviews.
