Looking forward to a review in the not so distant future. Must say that, having done the maths this kind of thing for some track fun is tempting

I've got until the 8th to run it in, then it's doing Snetterton whether it likes it or not! Oulton 30th Oct, Donnington 28th Nov.... you get the jist  :P

It's epic fun, as mad as a pensioner's terrier and I've not dared push it even half way towards what its capable of yet.

Andy - pads, fluid and a tweak of the geo. Needs nothing else at all.

The Golf has given it a filthy look and sulked off to the end of the drive  :signLOL:

:signLOL: That's jealousy for ya Mike.. The Clio will be giving the Golf a big  :booty: now that it's got your attention. They are meant to be a complete hoot these things, so not suprised you're happy with it.
I remember when I had my LCR and it was in at the bodyshop for a few weeks due to some tit pulling out in front of me. While it was being repaired I managed to blag a 182 as a courtesy car. When this thing turned up, to say it was dog eared is an understatement...
It had a headlight washer missing.
Wheels that looked like they had tried to take a 4' wide car throw a 3'11" gap.
Interior that would make the inside of a dogs kennel look mint.
The engine sounded like it was ready to chuck a rod at anything over 4k and it didn't have the Cup pack either.
But and it was a big BUT, what an absolute hoot this thing was. Everytime it got to a corner it was like a dog waiting to go for a walk, it just lapped them up.
I've just bought a new house and it has a mahoooosive gargage and i've promised myself a track toy within the next 2 years and i'm definately tempted by a 172 Cup and go to town on it. Cheap as chips and a laugh a min..  :happy2:

It's light, not so much in terms of mass, but absolutely in driving characteristics. It changes direction like a housefly, always composed and flat, wanting to be played with, egging you on.

It doesn't go in a straight line like the Golf, but it isn't far behind.. it doesn't stop like the Alcons either, but it'll soon be most of the way there. Show it a corner though and no matter what I'd have done to the Golf, the Clio would laugh at it.

There's a reason everyone in the press loves them.

It's not even poverty inside, looks and feels nice, the Recaros are amazing and a cheap option and I've got everything I need, Bluetooth, cruise, electric stuff, climate.

Monitor is a good toy too, has 6 modes:

Lap times. Current, best and last 3
4 way G-meter
0-60 & 1/4 mile
Power/torque/throttle % in real time
Brake G/power/oil temp
Optimal gear

I'm yet to fault it for the money  :happy2:

First question I asked before I bought it, Mat. But got it backed up by Renault just in case...

I can do what I want with it, so long as it is insured fully comp on track, which it is.
