odd that you are getting no clutch chatter . i have the same flywheel and pressure plate . different friction plate mind and get clutch chatter

any more info on this diff?  i was always under the impression that whilst a plated style diff gives the best grip, they also give alot of torque steer

Its hit and miss on the chatter.  Some like yours do it and some like mine dont.

Surely there must be something that causes the chatter and if some cars don't do it then it must be avoidable on the cars that do.

Its all down to the gearbox and the way the shafts are.  The dual mass dampens the noise out, but that is taken away with the lightweight single mass.  Mine does chatter a little bit, but I can only hear it with the bonnet open.  Non of the chatter noise enters the cabin.

I have some interesting info from Gary at Peloquins.  He says:

'Wave track is a very old type of ramp design and can become erratic upon acceleration
and deceleration due to not having a constant load applied to sun gears. The old 356 used
a set up like this using rollers and did not last. Plus may perform like a Detroit Locker and
start to make noise. Our unit and Quaifes has been around for many years with no problems.
'

He has always been very honest with his answers and just gives an opinion.

Car is looking good Alex, thanks for sorting the ECU out for us today. I'll pop up again so you can take me out as it stands at the moment before the turbo goes on. Might have to part with some cash lol.

I got myself some new front brakes.  Almost brand new items from a Scirroco R.  Go them fitted last night and they are soooo much better than the 312's.  They will do for now until I build up an AP kit.

Its going to be the start of next year now.  Ive got way too much work on customers cars to have my car on a ramp for a few days.  I really want to get it done too.

Alex, did you use standard hoses or get yourself some braided?

I probably won't bother fitting the rears I have as there isn't much difference in size and I wanted to keep it as OEM as possible with the shrouds and the R32 ones don't fit.

Did you just use standard pads or DS2500 like we were discussing?

Picking some standard discs up tomorrow until funds allow something better.

dont worry about thse customers, plenty more where they came from   think of us loyal forumites as your customers. you wouldnt want to let us down

Im using the standard lines.  They are more than adequate for these brakes, plus the lines came with the calipers!

So you have a set of rear R32's.  Just stick them on!

Standard pads for now.  DS2500's will go in when these wear out ori will prob have a different brake setup by then.
