Would going down to a 20mm pinned piston be a problem?

Would there be any advantage of changing the compression ratio?

Even the JE custom pistons are 20mm!

Whats up with your engine then?

Cheaper option would be to get some dm rods and mahle motorsport pistons from me.  Rods are in stock along with arp head studs.

20mm is fine.  Im doing a 550bhp 1.8t stroker build at the min using the dm rods and mahle pistons.

Anyway will it be Gt28 or GT30 series

What about the compression ratio and the advantages/disadvantages of dropping it to say 9.5:1?

I'll check the Mahle option out.

The THS look very good as well.

After June.  Gtx3071 will be going on along with another engine I'm building.

Got a new twin plate clutch setup being made which needs to be done before June.

THS dont do rifle drilled rods.

I have a whole host of bits In stock if you want to pop over.  Do the dsg service too if that still needs doing.  Call me rather than text at the min.

Arrow stuff is amazing, but twice the price of DM or IE.

Quattro is a no go for the vRS.  Will just spoil it.

You will indeed be the guinea pig Rich.

In which case, I might just have to see how the vRS copes with the hike  :signLOL: it'd save some pennies.

TBH I am so busy at the moment its not going to happen.

Constantly at work.

I'm going to email Integrated and see if I can get the JE Pistons with a 21mm Pin.

I did email THS about a custom 21mm pin option.

I am going to do the DSG service now as I am more than capable and can squeeze it in between shifts :scared:

The JE is a nice design piston by the looks of it, with some nice options. I am not sure about Mahle, something from the past is telling me to avoid but I can't remember what........?

Just need to look into compression ratios now.........!

Did you consider the APR head machining that is apparently a revalation?

Intake kit change.  Was running the ITG that I copied but ceramic coated.

Before:

New Revo kit:

Fitted:

Overall its improved low down and mid range power.  Holds boost for longer.  Peak maf before and after is identical to the old kit at 275 g/s but peaks higher throughout the rest of the rev range.

Looks and fits great too and to show a gain against the other best kit on the market is good news to me.

Its quieter than the old kit. Still a nice dump noise when letting off the throttle.

Pop over and I can take you out in it.  :happy2:
